Tonight through Sunday, catch Meg Wolfe’s highly anticipated trembler.SHIFTER, in which several dancers (including a personal favorite, Taisha Paggett) “delve into the far reaches of opposing forces to create a choreographic language from the exchange of extremes.” Sounds like an intense evening of movement. This world premiere collaborative work features an original score by Aaron Drake.

All day and into the evening on Saturday and Sunday, the Hammer presents Can Art and Politics Be Thought?, a hybrid conference/performance curated by Kenneth Reinhard and Drew Daniel and featuring presentations by, among others, Matthew Barney, Allen Sekula, and Alain Badiou, along with performances by Ultra-Red, Matmos, and Kode9. Sounds almost too good to be true??
